INTERNATIONAL GENEALOGY ASSOCIATION NETWORK (IGA_Net<tm>)
Satellite Operations
May 21, 1995
Update:
Mail is now flowing smoothly to the satellite. No one has
reported problems with unpacking and tossing the mail packets.
I extend a cordial invitation to all who are receiving
IGA_Net mail to join the network and participate with us. All you
need to do is complete a membership application and forward it to
1:274/30 or 1:147/109.
Membership in IGA_Net and the presence of IGA_Net echoes on
your board is sure to bring an ever-increasing number of serious
users to your board. The net is populated with a large group of
friendly and helpful genealogy researchers.
Sincerely,
Gary Bristol
Satelite Net Coordinator, IGA_Net

Instructions for tossing mail
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Set two fake AKA's in your tosser configuration file:
440:1/1000 and
1:274/1000
The packets you receive from the satellite will be
addressed to these two addresses.
2. Establish the echoes listed in ECHOES.IGA in your BBS
Make sure you have the proper zone/net/node number in
the origin line of each echo.
3. Set your "SEEN-BY" checker to "ON" in your tosser
on that line put your addresses;
a. 440:130/???? for IGA_Net echoes (listed in ECHOES.IGA)
b. 1:????/???? for non-net-specific echoes (ECHOES.IGA)
4. Set "CONNECTION" line in your checker to:
a. 440:130/1 for IGA_Net echoes (listed in ECHOES.IGA)
b. 1:147/109 for non-net-specific echoes (ECHOES.IGA)
5. PKUNZIP the IGAMAIL.ZIP file
6. Read the documentation
7. Toss the mail packets. The mail packets are security-
passworded and must be unpacked using the current
password: PKUNZIP *.<ext> /s<password>
8. Any mail generated on your BBS (persons with a zone
440: membership only) should be forwarded via
*modem* direct to 440:130/1.
If your tosser will not allow you to do the above, please contact
1:274/30 or 1:147/109 for a copy of GECHO.... which does.
Please report any and all difficulties to: 1:147/109 (or 440:130/1),
via direct crash netmail, as quickly as possible.
Many thanks, and enjoy the mail
Regards, Gary
